On On October 16, 2022, IMBiH Ambassadors Nerina Sivonjić and Vanesa Moro represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the East European Festival, a cultural event held each year at the Cathedral of Learning, University of Pittsburgh. This year, the event was sponsored by the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs, the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies as well as the University Center for International Studies.

Each year, each Nationality Room Committee is invited to reserve a table at the event and display material that represents their heritage. The Yugoslav Nationality Room has always had at least one table at the festival representing multiple of the former Yugoslav republics.

IMBiH Ambassadors Vanesa and Nerina answered questions from students, staff and community visitors alike as they inquired about the organization. Multiple people picked up flyers and signed up to receive updates from us on future events. While the crowd enjoyed walking around the Cathedral stopping by the various Nationality Rooms, listening to the Gypsy Stringz play Balkan music and tasting halushki, our Ambassadors passionately discussed our accomplishments with curious visitors.

We are excited to have been able to introduce IMBiH to the Pittsburgh community and experienced such a warm welcome. We look forward to engaging them in more IMBiH events in the future.
