On April 18th, 2019, film screening of the documentary, <\/span>reGeneration<\/span>, was held at George Washington University (GW). The event was co-sponsored by the International Republican Institute and GW\u2019s Institute for European Russian and Eurasian Studies. \u00a0Three of IMBiH\u2019s Board of Directors, Negra Husikic, Benjamin Tikvina, and Sarah Wagner, helped to organize and promote the event.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

ReGeneration<\/span> poses a direct but complicated question: Almost 25 years after war and genocide shattered Bosnia and Herzegovina, can the country\u2019s youth show the way to reconciliation, peace, and prosperity? It follows ten \u201creconciliation ambassadors\u201d (Serb, Croat, and Bosniak) as they come to terms with their past and envision their future. Embarking on a journey to hear the stories of their elders and peers\u2014war veterans, survivors, politicians, journalists, religious leaders, and community activists\u2014they seek to forge hope out of tragedy. <\/span><\/span><\/p>

Following the film screening, a panel discussion was held with director Emir Kapetanovic, producer and actress Zana Marjanovic, and four of the youth ambassadors, Emina Lisancic, Issa Icanovic, Dejan Raden, and Mario Mrkajic. The discussion was moderated by Azra Hromadzic (anthropology professor, Maxwell School, Syracuse University), author of <\/span>Citizens of an Empty Nation: Youth and State-making in Postwar Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Jacquelyn Greiff.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
